How I make my PB&J smoothie bowl and PB&J oats

Peanut butter + jelly is hands down one of my favorite food combos. This has become a pretty standard breakfast flavor craving for me and I do it in both smoothie and oat forms. Here’s how…

PB&J Smoothie Bowl

Ingredients

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 cup frozen spinach (optional)
  • 2 cups unsweetened almond milk
  • scoop of protein powder (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter

Throw it in a blender and puree until smooth. Top with peanut butter and anything else you want. I like to go with chia seeds and coconut flakes. If you’re a smoothie drinker instead of eater (with a spoon), you could always throw the peanut butter in the blender with everything else and just mix it all up ¬†for a drink to go.

PB&J Oats

I’m weird in that I like to eat my oats cold so that’s how this goes, but I suppose you could microwave the oat mixture if you prefer it hot.

Ingredients

  • 1 mashed banana
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • sprinkle of cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/2 cup mixed berries (I use frozen)
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter

Put it all in a bowl and mix it up to combine. I stick mine in the fridge for minimum 30 minutes (or it can just sit in there overnight). Microwave the berries for 90 seconds so they burst and create a lovely dark purple sauce. Pour over oats and then top with a drizzle of peanut butter.
