I had the very best time turning 30 last week. I just feel really happy and loved and in love and in control and those are good things to feel. I already wrote about 30 things I learned in my 20s for Charlotte Agenda so here’s a photo look at the rest of the festivities as I made my headfirst dive into a new decade. See ya, twenties.
Nick can’t keep secrets so he had to give me my present the night before. WAFFLE MAKER! So excited. I made my first batch for birthday breakfast the next day and Weaz was thrilled. My diabolical parents sent me 30 cards filled with confetti from every pet in the family so that kept us occupied for quite some time…
We did dinner at my favorite place in Charlotte: Kabob Grill. It was just so cool to have my brother and sister and sister-in-law and brother-in-law-to-be and niece and Nick and my friends crammed around one table at the same time. It was just a feeling of stability and contentment I’m not sure I’ve ever felt in adulthood to be perfectly honest.
My sister made a collage of my unfortunate early years, which was a big hilarious hit. The raspberry lemon cake was from Amelie’s.
We moved the party down the road to Summit Room, home of what I would argue are the best cocktails not only in Charlotte but pretty much anywhere. I had entirely too many and went home to consume an entire box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Cheers.
What an awesome night. I am really grateful. This picture made my heart explode when I was sober enough to look at it the next day… 🙂
