Hippie Lane App Review + Banana Bread

I can’t even begin to tell you how obsessed I am with Taline Gabriela and her vegan food empire Hippie Lane. She’s talented and stylish and gorgeous and cool, and I would argue that her monetized recipe app is the future of food blogging (and possibly cookbooks) as we know it. As a consumer of food blogs, a one-time $3.99 fee to access recipes in a beautiful, user-friendly interface and support the recipe creator’s work is a no brainer. I would pay for this app over and over again. As a food blogger, I wish I had thought of it.

The Hippie Lane App contains 50 vegan gluten-free paleo-friendly recipes with stunning photos, step-by-step instructions, and a shopping list. Imagine pulling this up at the grocery store instead of fumbling for a recipe through a non-mobile blog on a mobile browser. (I do that fumbling all the time, by the way, and it is a sucky user experience.)

Hippie Lane is freaking gorgeous and I can’t even deal with it. I want to make every single thing in it but I settled on one thing at a time starting with the Maple Banana Bread. It is the best banana bread I have ever eaten.

I’m not going to share the recipe here since I want to support the work Taline has put into her app so I’ll just say that I strongly strongly recommend getting it and I’m only one recipe in. I would have paid $4 just to get that one recipe. Seriously. And there are 49 more.

You did create a food app silly….just in a different form. Plateshare is ingenious! Keep up the great work/writing/blog posts/recipes. Your fans near and far are here still rooting you on!
P.S. I’m a huge fan of yours (i.e. followed your for years on sweettater), but rarely post comments. Just felt it was necessary today 🙂
