Hello hello hello. SO… I am back in school starting tomorrow and I know at least one student has not completed her required prerequisite reading so here we are at 11pm blogging instead. Some things never change.
I’m taking a nighttime coding class this spring because I thought it would make me better at my job but… also because I just like punishment. Seriously though it’s a really cool opportunity and I won a scholarship and I’m going to work my butt off because I love school. I also really love languages and code is just another one so hopefully somewhere something in my brain clicks. Old cat, new tricks. Let’s go.
Here’s what I did this weekend instead of my reading (WHY KATIE)…
I Drank Margaritas.
Maverick Rock debuted their new Healthy Menu and the head chef works out at Nick’s gym so everybody went out to support. I went out to have some margaritas… The new menu is full of paleo-friendly protein+veg plates and even some plantain “nachos”. I just ordered off the regular menu (which is surprisingly vegetarian friendly) and got a cauliflower taco, a falafel taco (!!!) and jicama slaw. And two margaritas.
I Went to The Daily Press.
After my uncharacteristic day drinking I needed a caffeine pick-me-up to make it through my wild Saturday night of babysitting so I made my first visit to The Daily Press which now holds the title of Best Almond Milk Latte in Charlotte… awarded by me.
I Bought a Star Fruit.
I don’t know why this is news but it’s my first one and I like it. I took it with me to see American Sniper.
That’s my life. I also made many delicious treats, one of which is the vegan Snickers you see above. Coming at you later this week… I’m off to study.
