Wear It: Chambray 3 Ways

Since I won’t be buying any new clothes this year, I’ll be in need of ways to remix a lot of my old pieces in new ways.

So here’s a look at how to style the same chambray shirt three totally different ways with stuff I already have…

Casual

I saw a look styled like this on a poster in a Banana Republic outlet and immediately went home and replicated it. It’s just a striped sweatshirt over chambray with a sparkly statement necklace. Theirs was styled with a shiny skirt for the holidays but I just went with jeans to keep it casual.

Kinda Corporate

The closest we get to “corporate” in my very laidback startup office is dressing up on what we’ve dubbed “Formal Fridays”, but even then we can get by with jeans and a blazer. Here, I wore my chambray shirt with jeans and a white blazer for a full on Candian tuxedo.

Weekend

Since I live in Plaza Midwood, Charlotte’s Hipsters’ Paradise, I get to get away with a little more offbeat gear than would usually fly in other neighborhoods around here. So when the weekend rolls around and I’m not Uptown with all the bankers, I’ll occasionally bust out my big ugly platform boots that were originally purchased as a joke for an 80s party but I secretly love them so much. I wore my chambray shirt over a black and white striped t-shirt dress.
