Morning, sunshines. Here are some curated distractions to get you through your Friday work day.

Savory Whole-Wheat Buttermilk Scones with Rosemary and Thyme – I still don’t understand the difference between scones and biscuits because this sounds an awful lot like a biscuit to me… (The New York Times)

Quattro Formaggi Flatbread – I mean. (How Sweet It Is)

Type Connection Helps You Find Matching Typefaces – NERD ALERT. For my friends in the marketing world who find themselves doing more design than they really should (due to lack of skill not desire), Type Connection will help you match complementary fonts, dating game style. (Fast Company)

Bloom Blanket Kickstarter – Please wrap my whole entire life in this origami blanket from a former Apple designer. (originally via Fast Company)

67 Years of Marriage in Photos – I cried so much watching this. (CBS via San Francisco Times)

Yesterday I kicked off the first day of spring with an appropriate level of outdoor time and tequila.

I took a break from the office and went for a run at lunch (who am I?) and slammed a margarita patio side at a post-work event planning meeting. No complaints.

And speaking of work… I have a tremendous amount of it to do so… I should put on pants.

My transition from work-for-myself freelancer and yoga teacher back to gotta-put-on-pants-every-day 9-to-5 biznass lady was far less jarring than I expected it to be. In fact, I love it and no one seems to believe me. Every single day at least one person will ask (with much trepidation) “So… are you happy with your choice?”

I am very happy with my choice and I am also happy to share about my experience with those two very different lifestyles, but I am for real in serious need of getting dressed now. Later gators.

  1. Oy vey. That marriage in photos video. What are you trying to do to me?!

  2. Oh man, the marriage pictures. So many tears.

I’d actually love to hear your take on the pros/cons of working in an office vs freelancing, if that’s something you don’t mind sharing.
