It’s time to accept the fact that I just don’t drink anymore.
Last night I went to see Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. at The Fillmore. I had half a vodka soda and then ate miso soup when I got home. I don’t even know. The night before I had half a martini. My snack that night was a peanut butter and jelly tortilla roll-up like a four-year-old.
Everyone knows the best part of going out is coming home to eat snacks anyway. So I think it’s time to stop wasting my money on half-consumed house vodka and just focus on my post-outing snacks instead.
The odd thing about drinking a whole lot less than I used to is that even when I have, say, half a damn $13 martini, I still somehow feel like I drank three of them the next day. I’m so old. That’s where this smoothie comes in the next morning.
Simple Blueberry Smoothie
- 2 cups coconut milk
- 1 frozen banana
- 1/3 cup frozen blueberries
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup cashews (or 1 tablespoon nut butter)
- Add all ingredients to a blender and puree until smooth
You could also add frozen or fresh spinach to this. Or cocoa powder. Or protein powder. Or whatever. You can’ t mess up a smoothie, really.
The show last night was awesome. Now I want to go to Detroit…
