Inside Electrolux

I started a new job today and had a cool opportunity to attend a Charlotte Chamber meeting hosted at Electrolux. I would love to wow you with North Carolina’s employment rates and whatnot but there was just so much food to eat.

You better believe North America’s biggest kitchen appliance brand turns out when they’ve got guests in the house, and the hors d’oeuvres on hand did not disappoint.

They had passed and plated apps and also brought in chefs from all over the place to prep on the spot in the countless mock kitchens throughout the space. I seriously pity whoever has to host the next meeting. There is no topping this.

The chef from Italy was oddly enough preparing Indian food at his station and my new boss (who happens to be from Delhi) gave it the thumbs up. I’m no Indian food expert, but it is my opinion that there is nothing wrong with a piece of cheese this big:

(I think it’s paneer tikka. Of course I ate it all.)

If I hadn’t eaten the biriyani so quickly, there would be a picture. I also really enjoyed this dal mung halwa, a sweet lentil dessert:

If you think I stopped there, you are wrong. There was also goat cheese pizza and grilled vegetables and some killer risotto cakes at another station.

I repeat: I pity the fool who has to host the follow up to the best Chamber meeting of all time. Good luck.

Good God I hope you picked up some recipe cards! If not, go directly home, do not pass go, and work in your kitchen til you drop. We need recipes young lady!.

    • Ah! I actually did hover over the recipe table for WAY too long. At first I thought the cards were laid out for the taking but then I realized they had the chefs NOTES on them. Missed opportunity.
